Sandwell has a wide range of water activities on offer – from indoor swimming pools across the borough to wild swimming clubs, triathlon training and sailing facilities at Swan Pool in Sandwell Valley Country Park.

The new Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Smethwick will be hosting the diving and swimming events for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games from 28 July to 8 August 2022.

The Aquatics Centre – post-Games – will officially be open for use by the public in May 2023. This state-of-the-art facility will create a lasting legacy for community health and wellbeing – with its 50m Olympic-sized swimming pool, as well as 25m dining pool, community swimming pool and seats for up to 1,000 spectators – and ideal for hosting regional/national competitions.
