About
Central Library is the largest and busiest library in Sandwell. It hosts music and theatre events throughout the year.
Built in 1907 as a gift to the borough from the industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, it contains unique murals and authentic Edwardian decoration, and is Grade II listed.
You will find a large selection of books for all ages, along with computers and free wi-fi. There are learning sessions, such as basic ICT, careers advice and more.
There is a dedicated children’s library with regular activities going on, especially in school holidays.
Our volunteer-run café is a place to sit down, relax and enjoy a delicious cuppa.
Our friendly staff will help you find what you’re after, whether that’s a book or information on any subject.
